    A Woman Among Beasts [Closed]

Post by Serenity on Fri Apr 11, 2014 2:00 am

“Stop it! Let me go, now!” Kaminari screamed and caught as much attention as she possibly could. People looked on in confusion, in horror, and without any hint of care. They knew what was going to happen to her, yet no one stopped to help. They knew she was innocent, yet they feared interfering in the workings of this place. A typical brothel with a lot of dirty work, murder, violence, rape, money laundering, and so much more. “Calm her down!” a feminine voice called out, but Kaminari was not exactly curious enough to look toward the person. She just continued on fighting. The men dragged her along without much resistance. Her own weak and fragile form was not enough to cause the slightest struggle. Though, as they passed into a hallway and her screams became faded from the main room, she kicked one of them in the groin. A moment later, she watched the fist of a large man rush unnecessarily fast toward her face and everything went black.

The piercing echo of three bangs hit the window right next to her head. “Hey, wake up!” a voice called out to her as she was regaining consciousness. And three more bangs followed. Kaminari's eyes struggled to open, but once they did, she was looking out of a window and into the eyes of an exceptionally unattractive man whose face was pressed up against the glass. “Wake up!” she heard a female voice call out to her, “Enough of your sleeping. Time to work.” The demands were confusing. What was the woman talking about? Kaminari regained enough strength to lift her head and look up. The woman was on the older side, likely early forties. She wore too much make-up, and was wearing overly tight clothes that showed off a semi-decent figure, but nothing could hide the wrinkles and age marks all along her body. It was not a pleasant sight to behold, but a professional whore rarely was.

“Alright, new recruits, as you can see, you're now part of our brothel.” the woman began to lecture about ten women in the room, including Kaminari herself, “You will work, or you will be beaten. You try to escape, you will be beaten. You do it twice, you will spend a week without food, without water, and without sunlight tied to a post in the basement. You will stand around, or sit if you prefer, and you will look pretty. Once a customer requests you, you will be escorted to a private room with them, doors and windows locked, and you will allow them to do as they please. If not, you will be beaten.” Kaminari felt her entire self being drained away with every word that this uncaring demon of a woman spoke. She looked around and took note of all the other horrified faces, but not all of them were scared. Kaminari assumed this meant that not all of them were new recruits.

A couple taps came from the window and she looked over to see the unattractive little man again. He had a pencil mustache, tiny glasses, was thick in the midsection, there was a huge gap in his teeth, and beyond all of that he was probably her height, making it a hundred times worse. He just kept smiling at her. Until then, she hadn't even seen what she was wearing. She looked down and wrapped her arms around her chest to cover up. She was wearing an overly short blue jean skirt, a black strapless midriff top, and black heels that she knew she'd never be able to balance in. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail that was too tight and giving her a headache, so she pulled the band out. “Hey! Who the hell said you can take your hair down, huh?!” one of the other women spoke up. “No... Leave her alone.” the older “head” woman that head been talking before said, looking curiously at Kaminari, “She looks better that way. More customers.” Kaminari immediately regretted her decision.

“I wanna go home...” one of the young ladies spoke up and Kaminari felt no different. The only difference was, she didn't have a home to go to. And again, three more taps came to the window and she looked back over to it. The man was talking to another woman and pointed right at her. The woman looked to Kaminari and raised an eyebrow, as if Kaminari would not have been her choice. That was fine with her. The man showed quite a large sum of money and the woman began talking to him. Kaminari couldn't tell what they were saying, but the man looked very excited. As the woman began escorting him around, he never looked back to her. Kaminari watched as they began heading upstairs and her heart was finally able to calm down. She had taken one hell of a blow for Kaminari. She didn't want any customers, ever. To reduce her chances, she scooted her way away from the wall and toward a far corner. She sat there and curled herself up as much as possible. She heard a few of the girls start crying and she had to fight it herself. She felt a few tears squeeze out and she wiped the tears.

“No, no... Don't start crying now, ladies.” the Head Whore spoke up again and Kaminari looked over to her, “It is only the beginning...”

    Setsuna Hayate
    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

A few days prior, Setsuna had been travelling along, minding his own business. He was trying to catch up to a friend of his when he had a bag placed over his head and then was knocked out. He remembers being in a carriage of some sort going over a rocky road. He knew it was rocky because every time it hit a bump, a crate behind him would dig further into his back. He hoped that maybe someone had reported him missing and they were taking him back home for a bounty. Yeah, maybe. But then another bump and a bucket fell on his head, knocking the young man out.

Well, this was awkward. As soon as he could see again, Setsuna knew about where he was. The fact he was the only damn male in there gave it away. Uh-oh... please no.. please no... He could feel his heart racing... and not in the good way. His eyes darted from the side and he noticed about ten females in the room. Many of them were scared just like he was, some were about to break down, and some were just staring ahead with a blank expression. However, Setsuna probably was the most horrified of them all. Normally a man in there would be a saving grace. But well, Setsuna was in there for a reason. He looked more like a woman than some of the actual females in there. The only difference between him and some of the others was that they had a larger chest than he did, thankfully.

And it definitely sucked for him. These brutes and beasts and neanderthals or whatever they are to be called made a mistake. And when they found that mistake... would he be their "specialty?" Or would he be kicked out? Or would he be killed? All of those thoughts came racing into his head just as fast as his heart was pounding. Although mumbled, he spoke up. "I wanna go home..." His voice didn't help either, it was still a little deep but could be either a man or a woman's. And then the woman in charge who was wearing something two sizes two small for her age left with a mouse-like man with a wad of cash that was probably compensating for something he didn't have. But Setsuna didn't want to think about that.

Noticing another person scooting away, Setsuna did the same. Something about her... well, she seemed like she knew what she was doing. Maybe she could save them! Yes, maybe she was a strong fighter and was just taken by surprise. But then again... there was only one person in his mind that could save Setsuna from this. Looking towards the ground and his eyes starting to water, the feminine young man mumbled something to where only those rather close could hear him... "Shinobu... please save me..."

    Shinobu Shiranui
    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

At the same time all of that was happening in a darkened room, it was rather bright outside. A man in blue, named Shinobu Shiranui, was wandering around. He had a scrap of paper in his hand with the name of the same brothel those poor girls—and Setsuna—were being held in. He had no idea about the other girls, but he did know Setsuna was there. Or at least he thought he knew Setsuna was there. He had been asking around after hearing the description of one of the new "girls" at this brothel. It matched Setsuna spot-on, and considering what happened to him... Shinobu wouldn't let it happen again.

Shinobu passed men with mustaches longer than most people are tall, people who looked like they had another full-grown man inside of them, and people whose hair was in so ridiculous of a hairstyle words would do it no justice. This was definitely not a good part of town. Then again, this entire town was not the good part. It was run-down and many windows were replaced by many planks, keeping people from getting in. And Shinobu was sure he had seen two or three dead bodies just sitting there in alleyways. This was not a pleasant place, which was probably not why it was not associated with the nearby neighborhood of Pleasantplace, a farming community which had built walls just to keep this town's folks away.

And then Shinobu found it. Its name was simple, "Red's." He had no idea what that name came from. And frankly, he didn't want to know. He didn't have any interest in who owned the place, what drinks they served, and certainly not the going rates. Two bulky men stood guard outside, their eyes too small for their head. "If I'm going to do this, you better damn well be in there, Setsuna," he mumbled and sighed. Looking both ways before crossing the street so he wasn't randomly drive-by mugged, he began to walk towards the derelict building. He could tell by looking inside that he would stand out like a sore thumb. But he had to. A friend was at risk.

There were days when a simple book really didn't cut it for her. Today, as it were, was one of them. Standing in an alleyway with her back against a wall, Solas closed her eyes and hummed to herself, feeling the cool breeze waft across her face. She'd heard a few stories, recently, about another brothel that had been making a name for itself around these parts. In a funny turn of events, she had her back up against the back wall of said brothel right now. With a soft sigh, she turned to look up at the bleak and uninteresting wall, wondering if it really hid what she'd been told about; and if it did, if it was going to be a place that'd only haunt her nightmares.

But, you know, there was something else involving this place that Solas really didn't like, and that was the fact that it was just another part of the underbelly of Cieria. Stepping forward from the wall and feeling at her hip, she made sure that the steel balls were there and ready to be used if necessary. Once done, she turned towards the wall itself and stared at it, trying best to understand the composition of it. Her informant hadn't really passed on much, since most people in there were sworn to secrecy in one way or another. However, it didn't really matter where she was concerned. Her eyes closed and she took in a deep breath, before opening them again with a pair of words,

"I see." Her eyes glowed brightly, and cracks appeared up and along the wall. Structural defects were shown brightly to her, and she could tell exactly where she needed to apply pressure in order to bring it crashing down. However, she didn't know what was behind that wall. There could be innocents that get crushed by the falling bricks and mortar. There could be children, for fuck's sake! Okay, there probably weren't children in a seedy brothel, but you get the point. With a sneer, she designated an area in her vision that was surrounded by cracks and placed her right hand against it, making light hums and starting to speak garbage words. It didn't really matter what she said, since all that was inherent was the consistent energy flow that started to build up within those bricks and mortar. With a soft smile, she started to raise her voice and increase the energy flow, causing the materials to become too filled with energy for its own continued existence. The explosion was, as you would think, loud and violent, sending shards of bricks inwards as an almost fine mist. The grin on her face was wild as she peered into the hole, seeing that she had just incurred on an empty bedroom.

Of course, people were going to know that she was here now. Clambering through the hole, she cracked her knuckles and looked around to see what the conditions were like. Squalor. The room was covered in blood, sweat and other liquids that she didn't want to think about right now. With a snarl, she kicked the door of the room down and entered a long hallway, looking down either way to try and make sense of her location.

She didn't expect the punch to the back of her neck.

She was dragged off into the main room with the rest of the girls and dumped on the ground with them. Her eyes slowly opened, and she looked up at the ceiling to see that she was definitely not in Kansas anymore.

    "Ugh..."

    Jilocasin, the Dragon Knight

To the outside, Cieria always seemed like a harsh, rough place filled with dangerous creatures, hardened men and honor-filled knights. Stories, entire books had been written about the types of creatures you could find in Cieria. But as in all corners of the world, the most dangerous creature in Cieria was known as 'human'. The most cruel creature of them all, for only mankind could enslave their own and break them. And this corner of Cieria was probably one of the 'darkest' of them all.

Within the shadows of an alleyway, there was a single cloaked figure. The clothing underneath, as well as the face of the man, were hidden by the brown, dirty cloth. If not for his large stature and wide shoulders, you could confuse him for yet another beggar and lowlife. But from underneath his hood, two red-orange orbs were scanning the area. Unknown to them, the worst enemy of all evil forces within Cieria had found a way into their midst... Jilocasin vi Cieria. The duke of the large Duchy of Cieria, sworn to protect the people within his borders from any harm. Normally, an undercover action such as this would be the dealings of lesser people, as it stood against his honor... But the safety of his subjects came first, and bursting into this town right away with a battalion of knights could endanger the possible slaves here. Slave-owners rarely let themselves be arrested, seeing as the mere act of owning a slave would always be punished by death. Well, at least owners would face a quicker end than actual slavers.
One of his patrols had caught a group of slavers not too long ago. From the interrogation, they knew that one of these brothels - the 'Red' - might very well be involved within the slave trade. Jilocasin hoped to find more clues to the large slaver ring keeping the entirety of Cieria in fear around here - especially so that he could send out actual missions instead of wild goose chases to all potential heroes within Cieria. A harsh land always bred a lot of heroes, or those with the potential for it, who didn't want to serve in the military directly.

Now it was time to act... Especially since he just heard a weird rumble come from the direction of the brothel. Most people probably didn't pay much attention to a slight explosion in this area, but it could mean a whole new host of problems for the dragon knight. So, without wasting any more time, the man with the glowing red eyes hidden under his cloak wandered over to the doors of the brothel. He wasn't the only one trying to go unnoticed, so he didn't stand out too much... unlike one young gentleman in front of him. It surprised the duke a bit to see such a man here - didn't seem like the usual clintel for such a dark place. Really, he'd like to just forbid prostitution, but that would put any actually good establishments that paid attention to the law out of business. Not all brothels were as shady as this one, but that was hard to remember when faced with humanity at it's worst.
The Dragon Knight followed behind the out-of-place young man. If the guards stopped him personally to search him, then his cover would be blown immedeatly - underneath the cloak, Jilocasin was wearing full-plate armor, and sword and shield were on his side and back, respectively. He knew that he was fast and skilful enough to dispatch two door-guards, but tipping off the owner of this establishment would be a bad idea... especially for the people inside... Unconciously, Jilocasin straightened up his walk a little, and while his face was still hidden in the shadows of the cloak, the red glow of his eyes would be visible.

To further explain the way the brothel is set up, the entire building is made of brick with two windows up front that saw into small rooms that the “top” women were in. As you enter, you walk for five feet and pass two armed guards who stop anyone that they deem suspicious. If you're one, they will check you. If you have anything they don't like, they will remove you, forcibly if needed, from the property. If you get passed these guards, you will walk into a large room. In this room is a large metal cage with women dressed provocatively inside it, and a neon-like sign that said “Take Your Pick” over the main door. The cage had a total of three doors, one on each non-wall side of it. Customers are allowed to walk around three sides of this cage, since the back is up against a wall. To the right of this cage is a stairway to a balcony that allowed people to look down onto the cage. Further beyond that are multiple hallways that that customers and their escorts would travel down to do business. To the left of the cage is a long hallway leading quite far back where the women are kept when they aren't on duty.

Many of these women are used to the eyes looking lustfully in on them. They are conditioned to the horrendous way that they were be looked at, touched, and chosen for certain acts. But not all of the women were, and it was easy to tell who those women are. The ten women that were lectured by the professional whore were soon joined by about five others. The cage they were in wasn't massive, but it was large enough to host these bodies. The women used to their jobs began their flirting and speaking their sales pitch to anyone who glanced their way. They didn't care who the customer was, whether male or female, attractive of ugly, rich or poor, no. They understood that these people came here to spend their money, whatever they had, on one thing: sex. The women who were not professional sat in fear of being picked, they cried, they shook, they curled in on themselves. And Kaminari was no exception to this. She lowered her head into her knees, trying to cover her face. She peeked around every now and then, her curiosity pushing her to do so, but she hated everything she saw.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed someone following her direction and scooting toward her. A black haired young woman with an interesting look about them. Kaminari looked at her and then tried pushing up a smile. “H-Hi.” she spoke in a raspy tone to the black haired one, “I take it you're new here too?” It might be a smart idea to make an acquaintance or two while she was here. She wouldn't speak to the professionals, no. It only felt safe to speak with someone like her. “I'm Kaminari...” she said with a forced smile that dropped almost instantly. She noticed something about this person and narrowed her eyes curiously. She reached out to them and brushed their hair back with her fingers. After that, she moved their collar back and bit and then leaned in to him to whisper. “You're not even a girl, are you?” she asked sadly. She didn't really understand how she was able to tell, but it was obvious that those here made a mistake, kinda. Most people who came here seemed to want women, but Kaminari questioned whether picking up a man wasn't part of their plan to expand their operation.

A few moments later, the door Kaminari heard the cage door open. She looked up and saw a young woman thrown into the cage like a sack of potatoes. She would usually speak out against such rough treatment, but this was a fucking brothel. There was no point in speaking to these monsters about how to treat a lady. Kaminari hurried toward the girl and wrapped an arm around her. She pulled her back towards where she had been sitting and the young feminine man she had been talking to. “Are you alright?” she asked. Kaminari was afraid of moving away from the wall. She'd draw more attention to herself that way. She'd rather stay out of the eyesight of the customers outside of the cage. “We should try to figure out a way to get out of here.” she whispered to the both of them, “... before we're chosen.” Kaminari glanced around and noticed someone pointing in their direction and speaking to the Head Mistress. She couldn't tell who the man had been pointing at. With how close she had gotten to the two, it could have been her, the black haired, or the light haired. The only question was, which one?

“H-hi." Honestly, Setsuna had only followed her without thinking she'd talk to him, so when she did it startled him. His heart raced faster, trying to figure out what to say. He didn't say anything, but just turned his head to her slightly, his face full of shock. “I take it you're new here too?" Setsuna nodded "Y-yes... I was just walking and suddenly everything went dark..." He'd skip the part about the carriage ride—being knocked out by a falling bucket was embarrassing enough for one person to know. “I'm Kaminari..." It was a nice name. Unfortunately, he didn't return her evanescent smile. He was, frankly, too scared to.

But Setsuna would return her introudction. "I-I-I'm S-Setsunaaaaaah?!" His introduction was elongated by this person moving towards him and touching him. Please don't touch me. Please don't touch me. He tensed up even more, his knees locking into place as she pushed aside his hair and then lifted his collar. Why was she doing this? Why, why, why, no, no, no, no, please just stop. “You're not even a girl, are you?" ...That honestly was a bit of relief. He shook his head, he didn't dare speak up. Not that he could right now, he was having a hard enough time controlling his breathing without having to worry about talking.

And then another woman was thrown in not unlike a large sack of potatoes. Except she was far prettier than any potato Setsuna had ever seen. While Kaminari rushed towards her, Setsuna tried to put himself more into the wall. If only he could phase through things, he'd go out and find Shinobu. Shinobu would save everyone here, he knew it! He didn't pay attention to Kaminari talk to the potato sack girl, but then she spoke up so Setsuna could hear it. “We should try to figure out a way to get out of here, before we're chosen." Setsuna only nodded in response to Kaminari. She knew what to do... and then Setsuna's eye cut off that thought. He saw a fat finger pointing in his direction.

Well, to anyone but Setsuna, it just looked like that general direction. But Setsuna felt his hair stand up on end. He had been chosen. His body began to tremble and tears began to form back up in his eyes. Flashes to the past, to that, were popping into his head. Shinobu, save me. He repeated that so many times so quickly. He could not hear anything else at the time... until the cage door creaked. It needed oil... and Setsuna knew something bad was about to happen.

“We should try to figure out a way to get out of here, before we're chosen." She groaned drunkenly as if in response, still trying to wake up through the haze of pain that she was in. Her body moved and twisted as she tried to get to her knees at the very least, locks of pink hair strewn over her face. She blew out in an attempt to get it off, but it was still stuck to her. She groaned a bit more, and cricked her neck to look at the people that she was beside. A rather pretty black-haired girl, and another, more scared-looking girl. She breathed out and remained on her knees while her eyes slowly sharpened back into life. "Nngh..." She was starting to finally take in the room around her, seeing the dirt and blood caked onto the walls around them. It seemed that she'd been thrown into the cage where the product was to be shown. To her side, she noticed a couple of men speaking to each other in tones that really weren't all that secretive--she still strained to hear them, however.

"--she who I think she is?"

    "Possibly."

"Catch of the month." She bit her bottom lip and swore under her breath, as one of those men traipsed into the cage and approached the trio, reaching down and roughly grabbing her by the hair, lifting her up into the air and showing her face to him. She smelled alcohol and tobacco on his breath, and his eyes went up and down her body. His expression turned into a grin, and he dropped her to the ground with a cackle.

"The great detective, Solas Kearney. Enemy of the underworld. Welcome to your new home, my dear. Welcome indeed" His laughter pissed her off, but she didn't react just yet. She didn't even react when he came back again and tore off her shirt from the front, revealing a pink lacy bra underneath, "The customers need something to preview, my dear. Do try your best to be alluring." Her face reddened and she looked downward, keeping in mind his exact features.

"I'll be... coming to you first. Unfortunately, men aren't exactly on my shopping list." She whispered to herself, before leaning up against the back wall and groaning again. She turned to face the two who seemed to be in a bad position, much like her, when she heard the door creak again. She looked up to see a sleazy man moving over towards Setsuna, looking her over and studying her features. She needed to get out of here. She needed to get the ones who weren't acclimatized out of here. But could she do it now? "Grrr..." She started to feel around her bonds with her fingers, finding the chain between the shackles and managing to touch it with both hands. "Alright..." If she did this right, she'd be able to serve as a distraction and a weapon both. But if she did it wrong? Then she'd simply have her hands freed up--and some people wanted to see her struggle.

Quietly, she began to chant gibberish, ignoring the pleasured moans coming from above and around. Only a little bit of energy was necessary, and the noise made when the chain broke was nothing more than a ping, but it was certainly enough. Her hands freed, Solas deigned to remain in the same position. She needed to wait for the right moment to strike, but hopefully it was before one of her new allies in this hellhole was dragged away into the darkness.

    Jilocasin, the Dragon Knight

The knight moved slowly, as to not attract too much attention. His batallion of Cierian knights was waiting out of vision range from the city, so any resulting fight would have to be fought almost entirely by him - it could take quite a bit for them to realize and storm into the city, after all. And they didn't want to hurt innocents - as low as the chance of finding any here was. His brown, dirty cloak rustled a bit as his eyes wandered over the building materials. Seemed stable enough - a simple fight shouldn't bring the roof down, unless he was forced to unleash his full arcane might. Hopefully, all of the slaves and prostitutes could escape if it came to that. As the duke, it was his duty to protect those too weak to protect themselves. He was their champion, forged within the fires of this land, to strike down evil.
Right now, it was still hard to tell if his might was even needed. The women behind the windows didn't exactly seem happy, but also didn't have the look of scared, new sex-slaves to them... But that wasn't saying too much just yet. Spirits could be broken, and no sane person would put a new, crying girl right up front as an attraction, at least no sane person that wanted to keep their operations relatively hidden.

The first door inside wasn't too much of a hurdle, besides the obvious problem of Jilocasin being a bit too tall for the door. The doorframe almost pulled off his hood as he ducked under it, but he quickly caught it - that was too close. Revealing his face and helmet right here would be the same as storming in, blade drawn, right away. Inside, a damp hallway... This didn't look good at all. How could any self-respecting human being enter this place? And by god, the smell! The knight assumed that, if he had entered as a dragon, the smell would be enough to his heightened senses to knock him right out. But he doubted that this smell was intended as an anti-dragon defense. And it only intensified the closer he got to the two men standing guard. Obvious muscles, sinister faces... Typical bouncers of the underworld of Cieria. Most people in this land had some physical prowess, so it took huge men to stand up to normal people once they started making trouble in any establishment, even those honoring the law.
Getting by them unnoticed was the harder part. With his cloak, Jilocasin didn't exactly look like the most trustworthy patron... and underneath, he had his full set of heavy armor, as well as weapon and shield. If he just kept his face hidden and acted calm, maybe he could get by them... maybe. But sadly, that didn't want to happen today.

"You there! Remove that stupid cloak, or turn around and piss off!" sneered one of the guards, before spitting out onto the ground in front of Jilocasin. Slowly, the Dragon Knight turned around, with a slight sigh. Today would be a long day, indeed. Walking back a few steps, the armored man murmured a few special words... words of power.
"Flesh to steel, weakness to power, strength of the ages, reveal from within..."
Then, he turned around, and started running. The men raised their arms up, as Jilocasin's armored hand appeared from within the cloak and opened up the band holding it together. Fluttering away behind him in the hallway, the man in red, silver and gold was revealed, even if he wasn't wearing a helmet today for once.
    "I told you to st-"
More would not be said by this man today. Jilocasin crashed into him like a speeding freight train, while expanding his left arm to punch the second guard right in the face. "The strength of the..." Arcane energy started swirling through the muscles of Jilocasin right as he hit his target, catapulting the man backwards, with the feet of the armored knight planted right into his stomach.

Inside of the main room, one could suddenly hear a slight tremor coming from the entrance... before the main door was ripped out of it's frame with a loud crack. Splinters, dust and wood flying around, and pressed against the door with his bag, one of the men who stood guard in front of the brothel before - and SLIDING on top of both the man and the door, before jumping off, a man in red and golden armor with silver adornments, who was pulling a sword from his side and a shield from his back.
    "DRAGON KNIGHT!"
And with that shout, which resembled a roar of a wild beast, the entirety of the room seemed to shake. And that was without a different spell that Jilocasin usually used to enhance his voice. Right now, every single muscle in his body was as powerful as the muscles within a strong ordinary dragon - a single swipe from his blade could cut through steel. The red, burning eyes of the duke raced through the room - crying, fearful women in a cage. Slimy patrons all around. An incredible stench of filfth, blood, other bodily liquids, and the fear of many women. That settled it - these people were guilty of slave trade and human trafficing. Hell, if his eyes didn't decieve him, then these people actually DARED to capture Solas Kearney, one of the few civilians brave, smart and powerful enough to stand against Cieria's underworld!

Kaminari felt her suspicions being confirmed just by the path that the woman was taking. She walked around the cage, over to a large guard. She whispered something into his ear and pointed in their direction again. Even watching as closely as she was, she wasn't able to tell who they were pointing at. The “more customers” comment that the woman had made before returned to her mind and she feared it was going to be her. Kaminari began sliding backwards away from the door. The large guard stepped forward and opened the cage, causing the un-oiled cage door to squeak. The man stepped inside and toward the three of them, but the one he reached for was not her. She was relieved, but he reached for the one that seemed even more frightened than she was. The man grabbed Setsuna by his shirt and was going to forcibly drag the small young man out of the cage.

“Setsuna!” Kaminari yelled and hurried back toward him. She grabbed onto his arm to try and keep him there. “Let go of her!” Kaminari said, refusing to reveal his actual gender. She kept a tight grip, but the man smacked her across the face hard enough to cause her grip to fall loose. Her body fell to the ground and she instantly sat back up, glaring at the large man, and rubbing the smacked cheek. The man continued his attempts to drag Setsuna from the cage. “Ah, ah, ah.” a voice only Kaminari could hear spoke out, “Watch that anger or I will destroy this place and ever piece of trash in it.” Kaminari's face immediately calmed. The anger faded and sadness took it's place. She refocused and looked up to see what was happening with Setsuna when an unexplainable roar came from just a few feet away. Obviously everyone's attention was caught and the guards hurried over to see what was wrong.

At first, they went by the pretense that they were doing nothing wrong. They spoke like guards, demanding that he leave the premises. “If you refuse, we will forcibly remove you!” they threatened. If anything further went on, a battle would break out and the guards would immediately charge. They would do what they can, with normal and Arcane Items, to remove the roaring man from the building or die trying. At this time, Kaminari noticed that they left the cage door opened. She looked toward the others that she had seen upset and crying. “Come on!” she whispered while everyone was distracted. Those considered professional didn't even think to escape. They merely watched, faces placed up against the sides of the cage as if they couldn't wait to see the fight begin. Kaminari, on the other hand, stood up and took Setsuna's hand to drag him out of the cage. The only problem was, where to go.

Kaminari looked around to see if there were some sorta escape route, but the only one they'd be able to get to was upstairs or out the front door. “We have to get around them, but how?” Kaminari said in a slight whisper to those around her. A few of the other girls had followed as well. They wanted to get the hell out of here too, so Kaminari felt it was sort of her responsibility to help them. So far, she knew nothing beyond the fact that Setsuna was a boy, not a girl. If she needed to, she might have to take a horrible chance and let her take over.

Setsuna was approached by a man almost twice his size. He then began to drag Setsuna away. Kaminari tried to help him, which he hoped would work... but the large man just gave her a nice smack across the face before continuing dragging Setsuna to the edge of the cage. The client looked over Setsuna, nodding with a steely grin. He even licked his lips. He looked like he was a repeat customer, judging by how the head whore was speaking to him about price. And he handed over some gold coins to the head whore and the guard proceeded to try to drag Setsuna out. He was trying all his might to stop. But he knew that he couldn't stop this guy from dragging him. "Please no... please.. don't..."

And then he yelled something out. He thought it might save him. "I'm... I'm not even a girl!" The man let go of Setsuna. He moved back as fast as he could which because of his fear right now... but he didn't get very far. The client complained to the head whore, outside of Setsuna's hearing range. She gave Setsuna a glare, then looked back to the client. He paid a bit more money and then reached towards Setsuna. “Sorry dear, that's not gonna help you here." The head spoke up. Setsuna had more tears come to his eyes... until he heard some noises coming from some dude in the fro—two people just flew into the main room. They looked like they had literally been kicked into the room. That got the attention of the other people.

The next thing Setsuna knew, he was out of the cage. Kaminari had taken his hand and was dragging him along like a little kid being a massive dog on a leash that decided to chase the mailman. Thankfully Setsuna caught himself before he fell. Or well, some one else caught him. He felt bony fingers digging deep into his arm. He looked and saw the head whore holding onto his arm with all of her might. She had the strength to crush a man's dangling bits with her bare hands with that tight of a grip. No wonder she had been in the business so long. She knew how to survive. But anyways, enough about that. Now Setsuna was in the middle of a tug-of-war between Kaminari and the head whore...

    CHARACTER CHANGE

    Shinobu Shiranui
    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Unfortunately for Shinobu, he had gotten the attention of two guards who were stationed outside the brothel. It wasn't too hard to do so... especially with two swords on your hips and blue armor. When they began to approach him, Subaru spoke up. "I suggest running. Now would also be a good time." The sarcastic voice in Shinobu's head would have been slapped on the back of his head had he had his own body. But no, the two were one in the same. And Subaru was right. Shinobu took off, running into a small service alley. No, not that kind of service. That all happens inside. But these two leaving their post would give the cloaked man Subaru had no idea was behind him a way to enter the place without anything stopping him yet.

Shinobu whispered "Kagerou" right before the guards rounded the corner. He was hunkered down in one corner, but the guards were focused on something else. Kagerou, one of his two swords, had projected an image of Shinobu three feet in front of him. With their backs turned to him, Shinobu dashed forward. The image dashed forward too, disappearing into a wall. The two neanderthals blinked and then blacked out. Well, knocked out is better as Shinobu had struck the back of their fat necks with enough force to do so. Because he probably couldn't go through the front, Shinobu looked around for another entrance. And there wasn't. There was, however, a service ladder leading to the roof. Moving a salty-smelling dumpster underneath it, Shinobu climbed to the roof.

It was generally well-made. It needed to be resurfaced, but it was sturdy. Except for one part. It was hastily-tacked on wood covering about a 5-foot square. He removed the planks one by-one, only to stop when he heard a boom downstairs and some large ham yelling. But that only made him quicken it. Stuff was happening, and it didn't sound like the stuff that should be coming from there. So he just sliced apart the remaining planks to reveal a section that was missing its entire coating. It looked water-damaged even. This was once an old entry to the roof from before the balcony below was public-use. This gave Shinobu an idea.

Standing atop the now main-entrance to the roof, which was a small outcropping with a door that lead straight to a stairway, Shinobu controlled his breathing. He sighed, and Subaru sighed too. "This better work..." the voice in his head spoke up again. Shinobu agreed. And then he jumped. Not to the streets, but putting all one-hundred-and-sixty-five pounds of weight plus the velocity of jumping from that higher elevation onto that weakened area. And just like he planned, the area which was about to redone gave way. He landed on top of a guard on the balcony beneath him overlooking the cage. Seeing some crazy guy in red armor swinging crazily just proved that he wasn't the only one causing a ruckus. But that's not what he focused on.

Beneath him, he could see a woman who was wearing a dress five sizes too small for her age and another woman who looked like she was... frankly forced into this business dragging a familiar face. "Dammit, Setsuna..." Going by the way the younger one looked, he decided to take her side... for now. So he began to run. He lept, springing off of the wooden balcony and onto the edge of the cage, where he took another leap immediately after. Now he was midair, heading right for the trio. And well. That's when fist met face. The blue armored glove met the wrinkly old face of the head of this fine establishment. Not only did it break her grip on Setsuna, but also a couple of teeth. Oh, it also sent her to the floor... albeit many feet away from where she originally was standing.

Now Shinobu was standing there. He popped his knuckles. "I'd appreciate it if you let go of my friend." As the guards started to converge on him now Subaru spoke again too. "Well, that was cool. But we've got a bigger problem." Of course no one but Shinobu would ever hear Subaru. "Wake me up if you can't handle yourself." Shinobu smirked before returning to a serious, neutral expression. "I don't think you have to worry about that." He said that out loud... in response to no one. Shinobu drew two of his swords with their pommels digging into the stomachs of two guards, making them keel over in pain. Now he twirled his swords so he wasn't some wannabe-badass reverse-wielding them. But hey, he had more people coming at him, he was gonna make sure they hurt before he looked cool doing it.

"DRAGON KNIGHT!" A smirk crossed over her lips, since that was all the signal she needed. There was still one man left in the cage, and he was looking--with a rather shocked expression--at the beast of a man who had just burst in through the door. He'd been holding onto Setsuna up until that moment, but released her pretty quickly after all of the ruckus started. With a massive grin, she stood up and charged--ducking around the head whore's grotesque ass and shoulder-tackling the guard into the side of the cage. She literally felt his bones crack underneath her, and dropped him to the side as someone else landed atop the Head Whore. More sickening crunching came from that, and Solas backed off to check the situation. A few of the girls noticed her broken chains and stared quietly at her in shock, before turning and following the brown-haired girl out of the cage. She bit her bottom lip and checked the situation further, before trying to move through the crowd to catch up with Kaminari.

It took a few seconds of forcing her way through a crowd of human flesh, but when she caught up she managed to just hear something whispered: “We have to get around them, but how?” She had something of a mental map of the place--it wasn't much, and it was definitely shaky, but she had a fair idea. She moved up to the front and stood by Kaminari with a firm expression, "There is a way out that I left open; when I got into the place, I blew out part of the back wall. If you can find the back rooms--they might be upstairs, I'm not sure--you should be able to find your way out." She turned around and looked down the hall. "I'll be after you soon. I have unfinished business with this building and its foundations." She let out a long breath and stepped away from Kaminari, before quickly turning around and giving her the strongest smile she could, "You'll be fine. You're strong enough to get these girls out. I won't be far behind you all." She then noticed someone else; a man wielding two blades. "Can you protect them? I'm... not enough to keep hold of a group like that. I'm a better distraction right now; I'll be well-suited to... backing up Jilocasin." She swallowed her nervousness and bowed sharply to him, "But you're welcome to ignore me, just as they are." She took in a deep breath to steel her courage, and ran back into the carnage.

Jumping into the air above the men and women that remained, she grinned and held her hands out to her sides. "Bang." Suddenly, flashes of light erupted outwards as fireworks in the air, hopefully blinding anyone dumb enough to look directly at her. If she remembered correctly, Jilocasin knew enough of her strategies to be able to look away in time. Hopefully. As she landed in the midst of a group, they all turned on her. "Phooey, now I really am just a big distraction." She pouted lightly, standing up straight and looking around her. Wow, they'd really surrounded her. This could've gone better.

    Jilocasin, the Dragon Knight

Jilocasin didn't even consider backing off after breaking right into the middle of all of these guards. Sword and shield raised, his red, glowing eyes had the fires of hate within them. The smell in here, the smell of fear, corruption and downright EVIL... it was enough to make his blood boil even without any usage of arcana to do so. But apparently, he wasn't the only one on the offensive. Someone broke in through the bloody roof, before crashing down out of his sight! Well, that was quite welcome. The more people, the better. And of course, whoever captured Solas made the huge mistake of underestimating her. This would be one explosive fight.
"Voice of the Dragon." With these whispered words, arcana directed itself through the throat of the dragon knight. Then, he raised his voice - loud enough to make the building seemingly shake in it's foundations. Dust rained down from the ceiling, even.

"Listen up! All of you who stand against me - you are found GUILTY of slave-trading! In the name of me, the duke Jilocasin vi Cieria - ALL lethal force against these vile criminals is permitted!" And as if to strengthen his words, the duke charged forward, right at one of the guards surrounding both him and Solas now. The tall man could've been a true threat, with a baton crackling with electricity, but the bright light of Solas had blinded him - he was nothing but a target. A sliver streak cut through the air, making a wonderful but cruel sound as it flew towards it's destination. The sharp metal easily cleaved right through skin, flesh and bone. The man had no chance to scream as his head got severed from the neck and flew backwards, spinning around. Blood splattering down to the ground, and a small fountain of it erupting from the neck stump, as the body slouched down - Jilocasin spun the blade in his hand, a small flick to the side, sending any blood on it away. The silver color of the blade seemed a lot more threatening right now, and the stare of the fire-red eyes pierced right into the next three men charging at him now, while another one was readying some sort of magical ranged weapon. The power of the dragon still pulsed within him - beheading this first slaver had been no more difficult than cutting through a piece of paper. This was the strength within his veins.
"I did not imagine our first meeting to be like this, Solas Kearney. Let us strike them down!"

“Let him go you stupid old whore!” Kaminari yelled angrily at the woman who grabbed onto Setsuna. She kept a tight grip on him, not allowing this disgusting woman to put him back in harms way. She'd sooner release Kurai. Kaminari's concentration was so fixed on keeping Setsuna away from these sick bastards that she didn't even notice incoming. Suddenly the woman was struck and sent away from Setsuna, her grip slipping off of the feminine young man. Since Kaminari was still pulling on Setsuna at this point, his quick release caused her to pull him back toward her. The lack of resistance sent Kaminari stumbling back, likely bringing Setsuna with her. Since she was not used to wearing hooker heels, Kaminari lost her balance and fell backwards. “Ow...” she winced a little as she sat up and rubbed the spot on her bottom where she landed. She looked up to see who the culprit of the sudden attack was.

A little further passed him was the pink haired woman that had been brought in last. She couldn't make it out, the ruckus in the background making it harder for her to hear most of it. It also didn't help that someone was talking over her. “You gonna let me play yet?” Kaminari shook her head, as if she could shake the voice out, “That won't work. You know that. Now let me come out and play with the blue haired hottie and the sexy pink haired chick.” Kurai laughed within Kaminari's head, who was doing her best to ignore her. Kaminari couldn't help but glanced toward the young man who helped Setsuna for confirmation though. “For one, his hair is black, so shut up and leave me alone.” she mumbled angrily, speaking to the inner witch. “You and I both know that fact could be argued. He has blue hair with black tint.” Kurai said. “Who the hell has black tint? His hair isn't a window. They're called highlights and they're not black, they're blue.” Kaminari argued in her own mind. “Do you think it's dyed?” Kurai asked. “AGH! SHUT UP!” Kaminari yelled in her mind again, grabbing her head as if she had suddenly come down with a huge headache.

Kaminari pushed herself back up to her feet and hurry to Setsuna and the one that had rescued them. "Can you protect them? I'm... not enough to keep hold of a group like that. I'm a better distraction right now; I'll be well-suited to... backing up Jilocasin." Kaminari blinked confused until she realized she was talking to the woman puncher, not that Kaminari had a problem with it in this instance. “Setsuna...” she spoke to him, gently taking his hand, “Let's go before they try and stop us.” Kaminari spoke with urgency, tightening her grip around the young man's hand and glancing to his violet eyed friend. If at least Setsuna didn't come, Kaminari would be forced to leave alone, which she did not want to do. Still, even if they tried to leave, they'd have to get around the guards to the other side of the cage to get to somehow find the place Solas was talking about. Or they could leave through that newly made hole in the roof, if they could get to it. Or they could take the front door that was only a few feet away, but blocked by a hell of a lot of chaos. Decisions, decisions...

    Setsuna & Shinobu
    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

"Shinobu!" Setsuna ran over to Shinobu as soon as he recognized him. Setsuna almost wanted to cry, his savior/friend had finally arrived! "Setsuna..." Shinobu, however, did not reciprocate the feeling. He lightly tapped the front of Setsuna's head with the butt of his sword. His tone was a little angry, moreso annoyed. Not really at Setsuna entirely, but mainly at what these guys were going to do to the poor boy. "What the hell am I going to do with you?" Setsuna rubbed the spot where he was hit, retreating back to Kaminari's side. "But good to see I got here just in time." He smiled back to his friend, showing that he did that in a caring way. Violent, but loving. That's Shinobu's relationship with Setsuna. "Mmhmm!" Setsuna perked up a bit more, smiling slightly. He felt that Shinobu could do anything. Even getting him out of this little pickle was no problem to the Shinobu Setsuna knew.

Then that girl that was being a little quiet—at least to Shinobu's ears moved up to where he could take a look at her. She wasn't that bad-looking, but something about her screamed "You're not her type." He had no idea why, but oh well. “"Can you protect them? I'm... not enough to keep hold of a group like that. I'm a better distraction right now; I'll be well-suited to... backing up Jilocasin" The pink-haired lady was now talking to him? And what's this about back-up? "Does that guy even need back-up...?" Shinobu and Setsuna had the same train of thought, but Shinobu said it first—Setsuna just nodded along. The guy was like some crazed knight running rampant in a small, cramped building. And yet, he was still doing just fine. "Eh... nevermind. You have my word, I'll be just fine keeping a group like that together." Shinobu turned to a pair of guards starting to move towards him. "I used to teach high school. Taking care of uneducated barbarians and leading a group of scared young adults... that was my job for a few years." He laughed a little. Well, Subaru laughed a little and it escaped. Subaru liked that kind of joke.

And that's when he noticed it. One of the two guards had the sword Shinobu had given Setsuna. That was it. It was time to get serious. The first guard tried to take a punch at Shinobu. "First... you take my friend as a hostage." Shinobu avoided it, dodging to the right and cutting into that guy's arm. "Second... you stole the sword I gave him." As he fell slightly, Shinobu cut into his side, incapacitating him with sheer pain. The second guard then tried to tackle Shinobu from behind. That wasn't going to work. "Third... you were going to get him to do heinous things." Shinobu twirled the swords around, stabbing the guy twice below his lungs. "And lastly... but most importantly..." Shinobu spun around on the back of his foot, bringing up one of his hands. As it met with the guard's face, he screamed out the final crime they had committed. "HE'S A FUCKING GUY!" K.O.

Shinobu grabbed the sword from the guard he had just punched, tossing it to Setsuna. The poor guy only barely caught it. But now there were two people with swords in the party, even if Setsuna wasn't all that skilled with it. Shinobu turned around to see the... carnage carnival going on in front of him. He could tell that back-up isn't what she meant. Back-up implied he needed support. No, she was just more... in-tune with that guy, Jellocasing or whatever. "It seems like those two have the front covered..." Shinobu mumbled to himself, taking a minute in to watch what they did. Setsuna felt something tug at his hand, noticing that Kaminari had grabbed it. His heart started to race again, this time in both a bad and a good way. Well, if there is a good way for the heard to suddenly start beating many times faster than usual.

“Setsuna... Let's go before they try and stop us." Setsuna quickly nodded along, but he wasn't going to just leave with a stranger. Shinobu taught him better than that. "Ah..." Shinobu tried to speak up, "Shinobu..." That snapped the black-haired—although Subaru says it's blue—savior out of watching the other two go at it... and not in the way you'd expect in a brothel. "Hm—" He twisted his body slightly so where he didn't have to rotate his head all the way around to see Setsuna. "What is it?" "I... don't think we can go out the front door." Shinobu's face dropped slightly. Not entirely, but his expression did. He was wondering if all those lessons he had given Setsuna on how to be observant was really all-for-naught because right now he seemed like the dumbest person in the room. But Shinobu knew he meant well.

"Well that's obvious." Shinobu wanted to lightly toss a pebble at Setsuna's forehead, but there wasn't time for that. Or a pebble either. "Hmm..." While looking around for another way out, he noticed a door to the side of the cage, still being guarded by one of the two original guards. The other had went to join in on the ill-fated strike against Jellocasing. Shinobu slightly turned to the girl who was holding onto Setsuna's hand. He wanted to tell her not to do that, but he couldn't right now. He just hoped Setsuna wouldn't have a panic attack from it. "Oi, you with the blue eyes." A girl in the back of the cage perked up. "Not you, you." He pointed one of his swords towards Kaminari. She seemed to be a sort of... leader type. Or well, that's how he saw her right now. She was calming Setsuna down, and that's what mattered. "What's behind that door? Is there an fire exit or something?"

Steel clashed and left trails of light as it streamed through the air around Solas, cutting down men and women that stood in between Jilocasin and his prey. She let out a long breath and lowered her body height slightly, closing her eyes and letting her body calm down for a moment. "Lets do this." Her eyes snapped open, and the first of the slavers lunged at her, obviously figuring that since they'd already gotten her once, that they'd be able to get her again, no problems. She smirked and met him mid-dive, driving her fist into the soft flesh of his throat. The force of his motion, combined with her own upwards movement, caused her fist to reach the back of his throat and break his neck in a singular punch. He fell to the side of her, but she didn't stop moving. Not even before he'd hit the ground, she turned her body and raised one leg into the air. Her foot collided with the centre of the next man's chest and pushed him backwards, away from her and into a wall. She turned towards Jilocasin as he spoke:

"I did not imagine our first meeting to be like this, Solas Kearney. Let us strike them down!" She grinned and backed up, pressing her back against his and standing near him now, surrounded by the crowds and obviously outnumbered. "Let us do so, my Lord. Once the civilians escape, I'll bring this building crashing down onto their heads. Any objections?" She didn't wait for a reply--she'd hear him anyway--instead diving back into the crowd and reaching down behind her back. Despite having completely taken her hostage, it appeared that they had no idea what was on her belt. They simply left her with these small metal balls--all five of them. She had a little laugh to herself, before producing one and pressing her finger against the magic circle that she'd etched onto it. In almost perfect timing, some fool decided to leap at her. She managed to catch him and open his mouth with one hand, shoving the small metal ball into his gaping maw with the other. She pushed him off of herself and jumped out of the way--just in time it seemed, as the orb exploded and took his head with it. Her breathing was already a bit haggard. She didn't normally do this much in terms of actual fighting; she was more suited to small skirmishes than full-blown brawls. She wanted to see how Kaminari and her group were doing already, she wasn't too sure how long she'd be able to hold out for. She knew that Jilocasin would be able to keep fighting for a lot longer than she. It's why she gave him the idea of dropping this building on them in the first place.

    "C'mon..."

    Jilocasin, the Dragon Knight

"A fine plan, Lady Kearney! Let the den of evil be their grave!" Jilocasin raised his beautiful, red shield, and multiple bullets ricocheted off of it, one of them flying back towards another guard and hitting him square in the... well... balls. With a high-pitched scream, the man went down to the ground. That was one less to worry about. Reacting to bullets would've been actually an impressive feat with his shield, but the slaver had taken his sweet time to actively fire, obviously worried about the cramped dimensions in here to avoid just what he had accomplished anyway - hitting one of his own. Of course, this plan meant that they had to keep the majority of the slavers busy until the civilians escaped - the Dragon Knight was confident in his own ability to escape an exploding building unscathed. He was also aware of his own superior strength compared to all other combatants here - after all, he was a trained knight and experienced fighter, even without his magic.
Changing his stance slightly, he dashed forward the moment that Solas did so herself, turning into a blur of red steel with a silvery streak of metal besides him.
"To channel greatest power..." With his physical power still heightened to that of a dragon, Jilocasin bashed his shield right into the face of the man who had shot at him only moments before, crushing his nose and sending him flying backwards. That was another one down, but there were still quite a few opponents left... "Grant me the breath of..." Taking in a huge amount of air in one breath, Jilocasin focused the two men who were coming at him, one armed with a jagged sword, the other having huge metal gauntlets on his hands. "Lightning!"

With that last word, impressive magical power was unleashed. Changing his own lung into that of a lightning dragon, the air expelled from his mouth turned into bolts of electricity - and in a bright, white and blinding flash, the men in front of him were engulfed in the power of the heavens. Crackling energy broke into their bodes, set their clothes alight, boiling blood and charring flesh - with a terrifying last, dying scream, both men crashed down to the ground, charred black corpses now with some flames dancing on them. The red gaze of the dragon knight, who still had small lightning bolts dancing around his mouth, scanned for his next target to take down and punish with all the fury of a dragon inside of him. They'd come to regret opposing him in their last minutes. This was the price one had to pay when betraying the glorious Duchy of Cieria!

The interaction between Setsuna and Shinobu eased Kaminari's fears a bit. At the moment, Kaminari felt more comfortable next to Setsuna. He seemed like a gentle person, unlike scary (Solas), scarier (Shinobu), and scariest (Jilocasin). Either way, it was time for them to get the hell out of there, especially with what Kaminari just heard. "Let us do so, my Lord. Once the civilians escape, I'll bring this building crashing down onto their heads. Any objections?" "Wait, what?" Kaminari turned toward Solas with wide eyes, blinking a couple times. "A fine plan, Lady Kearney! Let the den of evil be their grave!" and then she looked over to the large and loud man Jilocasin, also blinking a few times in shock. "Are you serious?!" she said and then her attention was caught by someone else. "Oi, you with the blue eyes." Kaminari turned to him, but said nothing since she assumed that his "Not you," was directed toward her. Of course, that changed when she had to back away, looking at the tip of this man's blade. "...you."

"Y-Yes?" she replied nervously, staring cross eyed at the blade he pointed toward her nose. This wasn't exactly the kindest greeting she had been given. "What's behind that door? Is there an fire exit or something?" Kaminari's gaze moved back and forth from his blade to Shinobu four times before she glared at him. "How am I supposed to know?! I'm not exactly a regular here!" Kaminari yelled at him, pushing his blade away from her face and toward the side away from Setsuna. She was obviously offended at his accusation. By asking her that, he was assuming that she had been here long enough to know the layout of this place and that just was not cool! "All I know is that the woman said she blew out a back wall... So unless she was on the roof to blow out a back wall, it's on the first floor... The only door to go through besides the front... is that one." Kaminari stepped passed Setsuna and pointed through the cage and toward another door, "That is our best bet. We should go before this place is destroyed."

"Oh god, just go already. You know that's the easiest way around this shit." Kurai spoke up again, causing an annoyed expression to form on her face, but she glanced away when that happened to make sure they didn't think she was annoyed with them. "Hurry the hell up, or I'm taking over and destroying this place." Kaminari's attention turned back to Setsuna and she gently moved to take his hand in hers. "Let's just go." she said and then glanced to Shinobu before running back into the cage and leading him out the other side. Of course, one of the guards saw this and attempted to close the other cage door on them, but Kaminari put her arm in between the door. Of course, this involuntary instinctive reaction was not unpunished. The metal gate slammed into her arm and she could feel the break beneath her skin. "Haha... That was stupid." Kurai said as Kaminari held back a scream. She didn't care. She wanted out of this place and could find a healer later. What she did care about was the man that was about to slam his body into the gate to force it shut on her arm.

    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

All around the place, burly men were rushing towards the pink-haired female and this guy in armor. Not just little bits of armor like Shinobu had, but full-on armor. Like he probably had a solid-steel cup as well as whatever was protecting his waist type of full-on armor. And no matter what, Shinobu was in charge of these... well, young women and one man-who-constantly-gets-mistaken-for-a-woman. And then he asked this one woman whose eyes stood out like that guy in the amor of what she knew. Of course, he was pointing to her rudely with his sword. “How am I supposed to know?! I'm not exactly a regular here!" She got angry, and so did Shinobu. Or rather, he got aggressive-defensive. She was like a cruise missile and he was a Close-In-Weapons-System or CIWS. For those not versed in military terminology, a CIWS is used to shoot down cruise missiles, incoming boats, aircraft, anything that is closing in on the ship or installation. "I never said you were. You just looked like the bossy type and may have gotten some info out of the regulars."

The two shared a harsh stare, and neither was giving up, but she spoke up first. “All I know is that the woman said she blew out a back wall... So unless she was on the roof to blow out a back wall, it's on the first floor... The only door to go through besides the front... is that one. That is our best bet. We should go before this place is destroyed." "See, you did know something I didn't." She gave a harsh reply, but it didn't matter to him. He was caring about Setsuna, not her. “Let's just go." He motioned for Setsuna to follow him, and began to run around the cage... while the others were going through it. Like he hadn't just tried to get them out. As someone tried exactly what Shinobu knew would happen, he noticed Setsuna wasn't with him. His right eye twitched, as the dumbass wasn't following him. Miss Blue-Eyes's arm got caught in the gate as the guard tried to close them in there. It prevented them from being locked in again, but damn that looked like it hurt. Shinobu used a downed chair as a springboard and punched the guy away, leaving the door unguarded.

Shinobu just sighed as he kicked the wooden door down. "You do know we could have just... gone around the cage..." He noticed her arm wasn't looking too good. But dammit Jim, he's a teacher not a doctor! And because he's a doctor... "You should get that arm checked out, blue eyes." He decided to state the obvious. Even Setsuna noticed how obvious that was as he was being led by Kaminari's other hand. He broke her grip, so she could support her own arm. "I'll go and help Shinobu... o-okay?" Setsuna smiled at her, still scared shitless. He ran up beside Shinobu, drawing his sword. Shinobu whispered to his partner. "Setsuna, don't go falling for her just because she's showing you attention. That's what women in this place do." He was giving him a life lesson as he led the group down a hallway, kicking down doors to see if one of them was missing a wall.

Her breathing was ragged as she ducked and weaved through the attacks of the slavers and the more dedicated whores, feeling her body move at a slightly more sluggish pace as time went on. She kept trying to fight with the people who came up to her, but every movement she made was a little slower than the last. She knew that she wouldn't last much longer in a fight--and her thoughts kept returning to the people who were trying to escape. How were they? What was going to happen to them? If they were caught out, she wouldn't be able to forgive herself. She quickly chanced a look over at Jilocasin, who was definitely keeping himself busy and not having too much trouble. A blast of electricity sent most of the enemies around them to their next lives. Realizing that he would be absolutely fine on his own, Solas decided that it was time she got back to the group. If she continued to fight, then her body would likely give away. Grimacing at the thought, she quickly moved through the crowd until her back was up against Jilocasin's, knocking aside a few baddies here and there. "They seem to have backup. I'm not going to last much longer--I'll make my way back to the escape party, get them out and then drop this place to the ground." She narrowed her eyes, looking for the exit that they'd taken earlier, "While I'm certain that you'll be alright on your own, I do need to hear it myself. Will you be alright, sire?" When he answered, she nodded grimly and suddenly started darting through the crowd. A bellow came from behind her. Yeah, he'd be fine.

Passing through these idiots wasn't easy, but it was faster and less tiring than trying to fight them all at once. She made a 'hup' noise and jumped over a couple of corpses, ducking through and getting to where she'd left the group behind. Passing into the cage behind them, she cringed slightly at seeing Kaminari's arm shut in the door. No stranger to receiving injuries like that herself, it was still something that made her feel a little faint every time she saw someone else get it. Sighing quietly at their bickering, she decided to pass herself up to the rear of the group, staying silent and watching their rears. She would probably be noticed--if she was noticed, she would put her finger up to her lips to ask for silence. While she could gladly lead this group out, she wanted to see how well they did. Of course, the sound of a guard rushing them would make things difficult, wouldn't it? The guy rushed at them from behind, and even if anyone else turned around, Solas jumped up and jammed her heel into his face, around the jawline. She heard bones break as she spun around and landed on her feet, letting out a breath and ignoring the sudden pain she felt in her chest. She was covered in small wounds, quite the mess. Of course, fighting off lots of people did that to you. More yelling and screaming came from the way she'd been from. Jilocasin was doing his work well, and she would ensure that this group escaped the brothel before going back in and destroying it. She owed it to them to do so.

    Jilocasin, the Dragon Knight

These slavers were at least persistent, you had to give them credit for that at the very least. Not awfully smart, or good at tactics, but cutting down a few of them and roasting a few others apparently only made them angrier instead of afraid... And Solas didn't seem like the kind of woman to be used to longer fights. Understandable - she was an investigator, not a soldier or knight. It came as no surprise when she asked for leave to check on the escape party and to leave the heavy fighting to him - this was his specialty, after all.
"Very well, Lady Kearney. Make sure to collapse the building as soon as the civilians are outside, do not hesitate. I will keep them busy until then!" giving his order, Jilocasin dashed forward in accord with her darting past the guards, right back into the frey. By now, the small fries that died like flies were done for - the rest took up the best strategy against a single enemy they could - they tried not to give him even a single ounce of breathing space. His armor made most of their weapons about as effective as throwing rocks at the scales of an elder dragon, but each time he tried to push one enemy away with his shield or hack at one of them, they eluded his attempt and two others tried to attack from his blind side. More than one gun was fired at him, although his reactions made him able to deflect them either with his shield or let them bounce harmlessly against his armor - the dents would be easier to fix than a bullet in the head. The hectic fighting made it impossible for the shooters to aim for the weakpoints at the joints of the armor, or at his head.

Twirling the silver blade in his hand, Jilocasin still managed to occasionally hit or stab someone, and his enormous magical strength made sure that those blows stung a lot, but he did not have the breathing room - literally - to unleash another blast of lightning. Still, he would keep them all busy, all focused on him and him alone - so that the civilians could get to safety. This was his duty as the Duke of Cieria.

Note: I believe this thread is getting a little hard to post in because of the fighting of NPC's, so I am going to do my best to move it along with this post, but you guys (likely Silim) will need to end the fighting since that's something that Kaminari will not do at this point. Just have fun with it and blow the damn place up. Lol

First off... Shinobu was about to get smacked. He wasn't exactly the most friendly of people, was he? It only made Kaminari wonder how the hell Setsuna ever put up with him. He was just being as ass. She didn't exactly plan to get her arm slammed into the door, but it happened. What was she supposed to do? She wasn't a fighter like he obviously was; she wasn't going to walk around the cage and possibly get grabbed by one of the fighters. She felt Setsuna let go of her hand and turned toward him. "I'll go and help Shinobu... o-okay?" he said and Kaminari looked at him worriedly. She glanced toward the door that she felt was her way out and then looked back to Setsuna. Something about him made her feel horrible for even thinking about leaving him here. She chose to walked up behind him and of course, it was right on time to hear something she didn't exactly appreciate. At that, something told her that it was said on purpose. Shinobu wasn't stupid. She felt like he knew she'd hear it, so he waited and said it the moment he felt she was close enough to do so. He really wasn't a nice person...

"Setsuna, don't go falling for her just because she's showing you attention. That's what women in this place do." She was highly offended by this. She looked away and cradled her hurt arm (left) into her right to ease the pain. She narrowed her eyes in anger, glancing back toward Shinobu before feeling her vision fade for a moment. Realizing what was happening, she shook her head, unaware of that fact that her hair had just flashed a glowing red color and then back to normal. "Close. Almost gotcha." Kurai spoke within her mind with a very cocky tone. Kaminari just turned away from the fighting, Shinobu, and Setsuna... and walked through the doorway she had been previously speaking of. As she stepped through, she entered a hallway and could see at the far end that there was another door. "Should let me take care of him." Kurai spoke up again, also wanting to shove a fist into Shinobu's face at this point. "There's no point in harming him..." she spoke aloud, "He'll get what's coming to him sooner or later. Karma really is a bitch...." Kaminari's eyes narrowed as she walked along.

At this point, Kaminari was actually assuming she was walking alone. She wasn't paying too much attention to anyone following her, so if anyone was there, she didn't know it. Soon, she'd come to the back door of this place and push it open, using her uninjured arm to do so. "Ow..." she winced a little, stepping out into a back alley. Looking around, she saw a large hole in the wall and raised an eyebrow. "... You'd think she woulda just used the door..." Kaminari thought when she realized that was likely where Solas had entered before. She continued on walking when she heard the fighting again. Deciding it was time to get away from this place, she jogged her way through the alley until she came to a busy street. The moment she stepped out though, she was immediately stared at by those on the street; she couldn't exactly blame them for staring at someone who was currently dressed like your neighborhood whore, but it was still very uncomfortable for her. And what made the situation even worse, from there she didn't even know where she should go, so she made her way to the front.

The problems with Kaminari that Shinobu was seeing weren't major, but they were slowing him down. He wanted to get Setsuna out of there as soon as possible, but her little brilliant idea of going through the cage had cost them some time. So yes, Shinobu was annoyed at her. But more than being annoyed, Shinobu was worried about Setsuna. After what had happened to Setsuna, Shinobu was overprotective of the kid when it came to women. And so for someone here, in this kind of place, to take interest in him... it only set off alarm bells. But they all eventually made their way to the exit that was oh-so-graciously prepared. Outside, one could barely hear the screams of the people inside. Soundproof walls in a place like that sure help keep dangerous business away from prying ears. However, there was something... missing. Or rather, lots of things missing. And that's when Shinobu noticed how un-clad these women were.

Thankfully, there was a cart of a clothes' merchant passing through. Shinobu ran up to him and told him to stop. The merchant initially told him to leave him alone, although in a very rude two-word phrase. However, when Shinobu said that he was looking to buy some things, the greedy man stopped his horse and lept off of the cart, leading Shinobu to the back. After some whispering, Shinobu called out to Setsuna, "Setsuna, how many of them are there?" Setsuna began to count heads, yelling back to Shinobu once the count was complete. "Twelve!" Shinobu went back to whispering. No one knew what he was doing, or maybe they did by logical deduction. He took out some gold coins from his pocket and gave them to the merchant, who replied by giving Shinobu a large, wooden crate.

And with that, the merchant left and Shinobu heaved the large crate over. Dropping it down, he immediately kicked off the top of it. "Setsuna, help me pass these out." Inside were plain, long, brown jackets. Shinobu wasn't a genius, but he was smart enough to realize keeping these women in whatever they were—or weren't—wearing was dangerous. Setsuna rushed over and picked up around half of them. Shinobu picked up the remainder, and began walking to each one of the women he had helped rescue. The first one would be the pink-haired one that was the back-up for Jellocasing. "You sure can kick some ass. Thanks for your help back there. Wouldn't've gotten the little runt out of there without you." He handed her the jacket.

Setsuna, however, was the one that went over to Kaminari. Unfortunately for her, she was the last to receive a jacket. Setsuna smiled at her, although only a little. She still looked scary to him, as did all women. "T-thank you for helping me out back there..." If she would've just stood there, there is no telling what Setsuna would have been forced to do. "But... please don't mind Shinobu. He's just worried about me. He gets paranoid when women talk to me, but he's got good reason to do that, so please don't get mad at him. I know he can be a little... rough around the edges, but he's really a good guy." All Setsuna wanted to do was make sure Shinobu didn't end up hurting Kaminari... and vice-verse. Kaminari seemed to be strong in some way Setsuna didn't understand.

With the sounds of fighting behind her now, Solas felt just that little bit safer. It didn't really matter what she did, she was always going to have to deal with some kind of fight somewhere. Whether it was a fight for her life, or a fight for the lives of several others, she would make sure that she did what was necessary. Even if that meant running away to preserve herself so that she could fight another day. As she clambered out of a rather familiar hole in the wall, Solas looked around and saw all of the young women that had escaped this little hellhole. Even if this weren't a full victory over the criminals that plagued Cieria--this was still a victory in her mind, and she would definitely be able to feel good about what had occurred here. Smiling softly to herself and looking behind to make sure they weren't followed out, she heard a voice speaking to her--or at least she was pretty sure they were speaking to her. "You sure can kick some ass. Thanks for your help back there. Wouldn't've gotten the little runt out of there without you." He handed her a jacket, which she took gratefully and wrapped around her shoulders. "Thank you, yourself. I appreciate the assistance." She smiled softly and looked back at the building, wondering if the fighting was over yet. She sighed softly and brushed some hair out of her face. "Unfortunately, my end of the work is yet to be over. This place is an abomination, and it's going down around the bastards who run it. Keep the girls a safe distance away." She let out a long breath and steadied herself, before walking back into the hole that she'd come in through.

She'd have to do this right--if she didn't set the right things up to explode, then things wouldn't fall down. She needed to properly and professionally demolish this place, or the job just wouldn't be finished. Stepping into the halls, she looked around. Things were mostly silent, though she could definitely hear the sounds of men fighting in the background. Apparently they were just throwing themselves at Jilocasin now. Making her way through the halls, she leaned down and picked up a knife from the ground. This wouldn't be too difficult. Each time she found something that looked necessary for the building to stay up, she carved a circle in, spoke a few words of mumbo-jumbo and leaked some energy in. She'd have to activate these circles on the way out, which meant taking a route that she would have to memorize. She continued slowly, making sure she remembered the path she was going to take and preparing herself mentally to do this. Eventually, she would reach the main room once more. Nobody seemed to notice her (except for maybe the Dragon Knight), but that was fine. She reached the last pillar she needed to activate and waved over to Jilocasin. "It's time! Head for the exit!" Whether or not she was heard, she immediately activated the first circle. She had ten seconds. Suddenly setting off at a sprint, she followed the path she had made and tapped each circle as she passed them by--these circles worked on a similar system to her grenades, but she didn't need as much energy in them--and each circle had a ten second fuse. Eventually, she reached the last circle with explosions making their sounds behind her. Diving out of the hole made in the back wall, she scrambled away from the building and fell to her knees as the last explosion went off, and the building started to fall down behind her. "My work here... is done." And like that, she fell unconscious.

    [Jilocasin, the Dragon Knight]

When the rumbling of the explosions started, Jilocasin knew it was time for the glorious finale. The clanging of metal had made it impossible to actually hear the words of Solas when she came back into view for a short moment, but the sudden screams of surprise and fear solidified what was happening now. With the roar of explosions, Jilocasin had enough time to take a deep breath and fire his lightning one last time towards the ceiling, helping with the rapid collapse which would turn this brothel into a mass-grave for the slavers and their customers, or at least for the few that had failed to flee the building.

From the outside, the fiery explosion with what looked like blue lightning bolts looked quite impressive, as it caused the building to collapse in on itself. Solas' work was magnificient - a wave of ash, dust and small debris flew to the sides, but the building didn't seem to seriously damage any other buildings nearby. Not that the damage would really be noticeable - this small town was a hellhole even without this brothel, and a haven for normal crime besides the capital one of slavery.
"I see that you are all well."
As the rumbling of the explosion stopped, and the dust began to settle, a figure walked out between the remaining licking flames, casually pushing a large piece of what used to be the roof to the side. Jilocasin had gotten some dust and minor scratches onto his red armor, but besides a bit of sweat running down his face, no injury or stronger exhaustion could be seen. Leaving the rubble behind him, the dragon knight disabled his still-active spell that gave him his signature superhuman strength, as he sheathed the sword on his side and attached the shield onto his back. The slavers were all crushed behind him in the rubble, as far as he could tell.

Standing before the women and other brave souls who had come to aid them, Jilocasin actually bowed down.
"I am deeply ashamed of this. A slavery ring operating out in the open in Cieria... Such a grave offense against everything that I and this country stand for. In the name of I, Jilocasin, first of my name, will offer financial aid, treatment of body and mind, and help with regaining a normal life to all of you who wish for it. My knights stationed outside of the city will have heard the explosion and should be here soon."
Raising his head again, he looked over to Kaminari, Setsuna, Shinobu and the unconcious Solas. "For your aid in taking out these most vile of creatures, I offer all of you a substantial reward from the royal treasury, as well as the status of Cierian Nobility, if you so desire - or any other reward I may be able to give to you, should you ask for it. I'd also like to invite you to the castle for relaxation and a royal banquet that you all richly deserve.
Bowing his head to them, he said one more sentence in Cierian. "Meine Freunde, ich danke Euch von ganzem Herzen." [My friends, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.]

Only shortly after Jilocasin ended, it came as he foretold - a battalion of knights came riding down the main street, making the peasants on the streets evade them by mostly scampering into side-streets and small alleyways.

It's a good thing that every country in the world of Aurora uses the same currency: gold. Oh boy, did that sound great to Kaminari. Everything here had happened so fast. Now that she was able to calm down, look around, and think about it without being worried about who was going to grab her, she realized that she would be in a world of hurt if it weren't for her rescuers today. Solas came in beyond prepared and Jilocasin was truly frightening in battle. It wasn't long after she left the building that the battle came to an end, and the good guys were the victors. A small smile moved onto her face. She felt like she was going to cry, but stopped when a certain young man came to talk to her. "T-thank you for helping me out back there..." Setsuna spoke up and Kaminari turned her head to him. Though she wasn't fully crying, a few tears did show in her eyes. "I'm just glad you made it out of there okay." Kaminari said, her voice cracking a bit after fighting her tears.

"But... please don't mind Shinobu. He's just worried about me. He gets paranoid when women talk to me, but he's got good reason to do that, so please don't get mad at him. I know he can be a little... rough around the edges, but he's really a good guy." Taking the jacket from him, she avoided using her left arm since it was the one she got smashed in the cage. Hearing what he had to say, she looked over to his friend and stared for a few moments. She could tell he wasn't a bad guy, but he didn't have to act like it. She looked back to Setsuna and smiled, using the back of her hand to wipe her face. "If he has a friend like you, I'm sure he's not all bad." she said, pushing up a kind smile, "Not everyone in the world is bad. Remember that. If they were, we wouldn't have been rescued her tonight."

Letting out a relaxing sigh, Kaminari strugged to get the jacket around her. Once she did, she smiled sheepishly and used her right arm as a way to keep her left from swinging around. She didn't want to stay here anymore, and there was only one place she felt she could go. "Mister Big Guy..." Kaminari tapped on Jilocasin's arm after she made it close to him, "I don't usually like taking rewards, but... I could use the help when it comes to money and I would like to take you up on your off-..." Suddenly the building just exploded and Kaminari turned to see Solas jumping out of the hole she had previously made. She landed a few feet away and began scrambling away. Kaminari didn't know why, but she could tell that Solas had enough. Hurrying over to the pink-haired woman's side, she held out her currently working arm and caught the woman as she passed out. "I gotcha." she said and then sighed as the weight of another being brought her to her knees. "I assume this one is going to want to join us too..." she smiled, giggling a bit at the ending situation. For some reason, Solas' re-entrance was just funny.
